Havelien Project ActivitiesThe Havelien project was developed in collaboration with reliable, local partners, where a network of carers and professionals are in place to support, promote, implement and part-finance the project. Strict performance and financial monitoring is already in place. Primary activity: Ammalife aims to offer a 24 hour transporation service, that re-imburses minibus-taxi drivers at a charge of £3-£5 per "life-saving journey". The amount paid depends on the terrain and the distance of the village from the birth facility. From recent audits, it is estimated that the service will be used by 150 - 200 women per month. Other Project Activities:
Ammalife ensures reimbursement is offered only after the full details of the delivery and its circumstances have been given. A bi-annual report of the service is produced by the project team, supplemented by audit and quality improvement visits by local Ammalife staff and independent assessors. Ammalife Annual Report will provide complete break-down of the resources invested in this project. Ammalife project activities are carried out by volunteers, who receive no payments. Ammalife makes payments to external service providers, such as the minibus-taxi drivers, for direct services rendered in fulfilling project objectives. All Ammalife volunteers declare that they have no conflict of interest, specifically there are no financial links with any of the external service providers. |
